AN LNG CARGO SYSTEM SIMULATOR FOR SHIP CREW TRAINING

The cargo system simulator consists of actual control room equipment--consoles, controls and displays--representative of a modern 125,000 cubic meter LNG carrier supported by a mathematical model of the ship cargo system loading, voyage, discharge, etc. An extensive malfunction capability is provided whereby the instructor can schedule one or several malfunctions to occur after selected time intervals. There is planned expansion provision for other cargos, different containment systems, etc. The simulator is intended for use in training and retaining crews to conduct LNG cargo operations in both normal and abnormal circumstances and to provide factual reports on the exercise which may be useful for training evaluation.
