FLEXURAL BEHAVIOR OF LATERALLY REINFORCED HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE SECTIONS

This paper describes the flexural stress-strain curves and the stress block parameters of reinforced high-strength and ultra-high-strength concrete column specimens. The specimens were tested under eccentric compressive loads applied with a controlled position of the neural axis. Variables in the test series included concrete strength, confinement steel, and the shape of the compression zone. The paper also includes analytical modeling of the behavior of rectangular column specimens using empirical stress-strain relationships for confined concrete.
