PRESENT TECHNOLOGY OF READY-MIXED CONCRETE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS

This paper reports on the current state of the ready-mixed concrete (RMC) industry in Japan and problems identified in JIS A 5308 (Ready-Mixed Concrete) with reference to European and other standards. Such problems include the following: quality of aggregate, designations of concrete strength, precision of material weighing, performance tests of agitator trucks, carrying capacities, water addition on job site, early judgement of strength, inspection at RMC plants, quality assurance by ISO 9000 and product liability.
