CONTRIBUTION TO THE MATHEMATICAL DETERMINATION OF THE STRESS-STRAIN BEHAVIOUR OF UNBOUND STRUCTURAL LAYERS BY MEANS OF TRIAXIAL TESTS

A non-linear resilent stress-strain model for unbound granular materials is given. Results of triaxial tests on granular materials were analysed to determine the elastic parameters of a granular material - the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio - which depend on the stress state. The method chosen in this paper to describe an unbound granular material's non-linear behaviour has given good comparative results with both triaxial test and field test results using finite element analysis.
