EVALUATION OF EFFECTS OF CREEP AND SHRINKAGE IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE GIRDERS STRENGTHENED BY EXTERNAL CABLES

The external cable system has frequently been used for recently constructed bridges. It is also one of the effective methods for strengthening existing bridges. This paper deals with the evaluation of effects due to creep and shrinkage in prestressed concrete girders where the external cables are applied to connect simple-span girders.
