DOMESTIC LINE OPERATIONS IN PASSENGER TRANSPORT AND CABOTAGE
The article reports on views of German passenger transportation companies with regard to "capotage", a term which means a carrier's capacity to undertake inland transport in all the countries through which it transits. The draft European regulation aimed at allowing all international undertakings to carry passengers locally in competition with approved public carriers and on the same lines as them is likely to have perversive effects. The author concludes that we must endeavor to exclude the urban, suburban, and regional carriage of passengers from the scope of the European regulation on capotage.
