COMPARISON OF SEVERAL MOISTURE SUSCEPTIBILITY TESTS TO PAVEMENTS OF KNOWN FIELD PERFORMANCE (WITH DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE)
The purpose of this study is to perform a post-mortem investigation on 20 pavements of known performance with respect to moisture damage. Four different tests were used to analyze the pavements: AASHTO T 283 (modified Lottman test), ASTM D 3625 (boiling water test), the Environmental Conditioning System, and the Hamburg wheel-tracking device. Identifying which test method best predicted the pavements of known field performance would provide valuable information for Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) designers in the future.
