HITTING THE MARK

Over the past two decades, the electro-optical tracking and fire- control systems has become firmly established as the low-cost weapon-control sensor of choice for small warships. Today, such systems are also finding applications onboard many major surface warships as an adjunct or alternative to radar-controlled gun fire control within a wider combat systems. This article surveys the latest technology.
