THE POLYTECHNIC EFFECT OF TWO KINDS OF ASSEMBLING CLEARANCES ON LUGLESS JOINT SHACKLE'S STRENGTH

The Kenter type of lugless joint shackle is widely used today. In the production, if the initial clearances between the members are suitable, the reject rate will be significant. The assembling clearances must be limited by the strength of the shackles. This paper presents a calculation method and program of the effect of assembling clearances on the joining shackle's strength and points out the optimal range of the clearances. The calculation method and program can be applied to varieties of specifications of lugless joining shackles.
