A new waveload analysis system has been developed which is based on the three-dimensional panel method and strip method to provide safe and reliable ship hull structures. The three-dimensional panel method consists of the spline approximation of the ship surface and the integral equation directly with respect to the velocity potential. The strip method was improved by the diffraction wave term which is calculated with exact two-dimensional body boundary conditions and considers the effect of the diffraction wave from bow, stern and bottom. The results of the new waveload analysis system are in good agreement with experimental values for the pressure distribution on a VLCC and a container ship.
