TANK SYSTEM OF LIQUEFIED HYDROGEN CARRIER

This paper discusses the tank system for a liquefied hydrogen carrier (LHC). A new concept should be used to design the tank system as the cargo would be handled at the cryogenic temperature region as low as 20K which is not situated on the linear extensions of LNG carrier technology. The LHC concept and configurations of the system for tank and machinery are proposed, including cargo tank and support, vacuum insulation, cargo transfer and cargo reliquefaction, and related analytical solutions are described.
