THE OPTIMIZATION OF DESIGNED PERFORMANCE OF PLATE FIN REGENERATOR FOR MARINE GAS TURBINE

The design technique for a fin regenerator is proposed. It can be used properly by adding a new designed regenerator in an existing simple cycle gas turbine to enable the gas turbine system to reach an optimal performance. The optimization of design performance parameters (regenerator effectiveness and pressure drop) and the construction parameters (channel width, channel length and number of fin plates) for fin a plate regenerator which is widely used in current marine gas turbine sets are analyzed. The relationship between weight, dimensions and system performance of the regenerator is also discussed. A new criterion for judging the system performance is proposed.
