ANALYSIS OF TRENDS IN THE DESIGN OF LARGE MEGA YACHTS
Four different designs of large mega yachts and one mini- cruiser are described. These large yachts have the potential of transatlantic and/or transpacific crossings that can be made relatively comfortable. The three important aspects which will play a key role in this comfort are discussed: the endurance of the trip; the seakeeping performance; and the propeller-hull interaction. Finally, options for future propulsion developments are outlined.
