VORTEX SHEDDING FROM BLUFF BODIES WITH SPLITTER PLATES

Vortex shedding from bluff bodies with splitter plates was experimentally investigated. It was shown that vortex shedding from bluff bodies with extended splitter plates is characterized by the impinging-shear-layer instability, where the Strouhal number in terms of splitter plate length increases stepwise with increasing splitter plate length.
