This paper presents four main engine and propulsion arrangements, all of them being a contribution to the high speed light craft, commercial market. The arrangements comprising CPS PowerDRIVE, CPS PowerLIND, CPS PowerPACK and CPS PowerCUOPACK (referred to as Powerdrive, Powerlink, Powerpack and Powerduopack) are all based on the use of high efficiency surface piercing propeller. The arrangements have shown to prove that the surface piercing propeller, today mainly designed for the high speed area and the offshore racing industry, do also have a significant potential use as a conventional propeller in the displacement mode even with bollard pull capabilities. The CPS Powerlink accomodates a low cost, high output engine arrangement which facilitates a slim line hull and a low centre of gravity. A total of four world-wide patents have been awarded; the function, and derivatives thereof, of the Powerpack, the lining principles of the Powerlink and finally the swing and tilting arrangements of the Powerdrive.
