NEW LNG MEETS THE DEMAND FOR QUALITY

When Kvaerner Masa-Yards delivered the LNG carrier MUBARAZ in January, it became not only the first LNG ship to be built in Finland, but also, at 135,000m3 capacity, the largest ship ever built in the country. The ship, operated by Abu Dhabi's National Gas Shipping Co, has four Kvaerner Moss-type spherical tanks, rather than the usual five, which are thought to be the largest such tanks ever constructed. The main particulars of the vessel are: propulsion Mitsubishi HP+LP steam turbines length, overall 290m length, between perpendiculars 275m beam 48.1m depth 27.0m draught, summer 11.8m deadweight, summer 72,970t speed, service 19.5 knots cargo capacity 135,000m3
