A SECOND-ORDER THEORY FOR THE RESPONSE STATISTICS OF WAVE INDUCED SHIP HULL VIBRATIONS IN RANDOM SEAS

The paper presents numerical results for the response statistics derived from the application of the Kac-Siegert representation of quadratic transformations of Gaussian processes to the statistical analysis of combined first-order and second-order ship hull vibration response in random seas. Specifically, results for the probability density functions and exceedence probabilities for the wave induced bending moment amidship are given.
