The comparatively low-cost furanic resins are ideal in many respects; aniline furfural resin has been tried for grouting jointed carbonate rocks. It is suggested that the A2F resin can be used for soil injection purposes. Resin injection (diluents and low viscosity admixtures may be needed for effective injection of resin-catalyst system_ may be ideal in situations where sealing of pervious stratum is necessary to stop expensive and hazardous seepage, or where a layer of sand is suddenly encountered. Strength tests have shown that A2F resins may be ideal for sand stabilization in a variety of situations, e.g. road subgrades where they can be used within a few days of placing.
