INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR INLAND TRANSPORTATION IN TIETE-PARANA WATERWAY

The Tiete-Parana project in South America has many facets, but the development of a full, modern, intermodal transportation system through a wide region is one of the foundations. The waterway is the most visible element of this subject. The Tiete- Parana and Paraguai rivers form the backbone of an intermodal MERCOSUL (Southern Cone Common Market) transport system. For this, barge pusher systems were developed for several products such as: agricultural cargoes, fertilizers, wood and cellulose.
