ELECTRIC PROPULSION AND AUTOMATION SYSTEMS FOR SHUTTLE TANKER

The paper describes the electric propulsion system on a 125,800dwt shuttle tanker built in Korea. The system is composed of 4 sets of main generators and 2 synchronous electric motors connected to one shaft to guarantee operation reliability. The dynamic positioning system, submerged turret loading system and the integrated automation system are also described.
