NEW GENERATION HEAVY LIFT VESSEL
The RAMBIZ, a new generation of heavy lift vessel was designed and fabricated by Dutch heavy lift equipment manufacturer Huisman-Itrec BV. The RAMBIZ is of catamaran design, utilising the Scaldis heavy lift pontoons Ram and Bizon for the vessels floaters. The twin hulls are linked by a newly constructed connector beam, a seagoing pontoon vessel in its own right, which enhances the vessel's stability. The twin cranes are newbuilds, each rated at 2,000 tonnes lift capacity and they can be removed from the hull platform and used for heavy lift tasks ashore. In addition, the twin hulls can be separated with ease, creating two heavy lift vessels, each with a 2,000-tonne capacity and capable of fully independent operation.
