RADIAL MIGRATION OF PARTICLE IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF SHIP

To research the redistribution of particles in internal combustion engines of ships, the radial migration of a single particle in laminar flow is studied experimentally. By recording the trajectories of a particle with CCD-PTR, it is found that in the shear region of the entrance of laminar flow in a horizontal, straight tube, the particle shifts to the axis when it lags behind the local flow and to the wall when proceeding the flow.
