FPSO SYSTEMS - A CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY'S PERSPECTIVE

The paper deals with technical and regulatory issues regarded as important to designers and operators aiming for successful classification and long-term service for Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facilities. FPSOs comprise of a combination of marine and offshore technology and must comply with the requirements and regulations of the classification society, flag administration, IMO and national authorities. The paper addresses many of the important issues involved and assists operators and designers to comply with the relevant regulations.
