TRICAT IN SERVICE
Three 50 knot, 45 metre TriCat catamarans are now entering service between Hong Kong and Macua setting new standards of speed and comfort on the world's busiest ferry route. This paper deals with the reasons leading to the development of the TriCat, some of the problems involved in the innovative design, construction of the vessel, and use of advanced techniques and materials. The pre service trials of the first craft and its entry into service are also outlined.
