EYE MOVEMENT MEASUREMENT AS A TOOL FOR DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF BOARDSIDE AND ROADSIDE INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR CAR DRIVERS
BLICKBEWEGUNGSMESSUNG ALS WERKZEUG FUER DIE GESTALTUNG UND BEWERTUNG VON BORD- UND STRESSENSEITIGEN INFORMATIONSSYSTEMEN FUER DEN KRAFTFAHRER
Existing methods and devices for eye movement measurements have been tested and evaluated concerning their applicability in driving cars. Although dynamic eye movements can be determined by electrooculography, this method gave no stable and reproducible points of fixation required for practical application. In a prototypic application measurement the potential suitability of optical eye movement measuring systems as tools for the evaluation of different kinds of information presentation in driving cars has been proved.
