TOLLEY DIAL SURVEY OF COMPANY CAR SCHEMES 1995-96
This survey provides a detailed analysis of the short and long term trends of all operational aspects of the United Kingdom company car policy and administration for all fleet sizes of more than six cars. Of the 310 companies taking part, nearly half were private companies and one quarter were PLCs. Tables are given to show the most popular type of car chosen by employees of several levels of status. Trends are reported on contract hire and the life of a company car. Methods of disposing of old cars are examined and servicing arrangements are discussed. Details are given of breakdown services and the type of insurance used. The Company Secretary has increasing responsibility for the fleet. Comparisons with earlier years are provided in an appendix. Financial aspects, including taxation of company cars, are covered in four further appendices. The complete questionnaire is included in the report.
