THE STATE OF THE URBAN TRANSPORTATION PROFESSION IN 1993. A REPRINT OF SURVEYS CONDUCTED BY THE URBAN TRANSPORTATION MONITOR DURING 1993.
The Urban Transportation Monitor conducts random-sample telephone and mail-back surveys for each of its bi-weekly issues. The surveys cover a wide range of topics and give an excellent overview of attitudes and perceptions on a variety of topics. The survey results, as they appeared in each issue of The Urban Transportation Monitor during 1993, are reprinted in this document. Traffic Signal Issues; Automated Guideway Transit in the U.S.; Transportation-Related Electronic Bulletin Boards in the U.S.; Urban Traffic Congestion; Freeway/Expressway HOV Facilities (Characteristics); and Traffic Engineering Safety Issues in Urban Areas are only some of the topics of the surveys.
