TOWARD A THEORY OF AIRLINE PRICING

The authors focus attention on the mechanics of price determination in order to provide a framework for considering the current turmoil surrounding airline pricing. They utilize simple demand-cost principles to construct a basic model of the air travel market. Their empirical tests indicate that the model is a plausible start toward understanding airline pricing.
