MAGLEV RESEARCH CORPORATION: AN ORGANIZATIONAL VIEW

With the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), domestic and international corporations are posturing to take advantage of a new economic opportunity. Amex Maglev, an international consortium, has been designed to implement and operate a magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) link between Dallas - Fort Worth, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico. MAGLEV research and development have been underway since the mid-1960s. This consortium is the first large scale effort. The consortium has subcontracted research and design of the railway infrastructure to Maglev Research Corporation (MRC). This paper addresses the organizational structure of MRC, and focuses on the managers and personnel of the key divisions. Emphasis is given to the technical requirements and functions of these key divisions.
