CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TECHNIQUES
In general, Europe traffic volume has increase very fast in a few years, and axle loads have increased tremendously. Therefore, roads are under stresses and strains. Pavements can be good, but often there are failures which are better to repair quickly before they worsen. Many risks are due to driver error. The economic situation is just now very bad in Europe, and a country cannot always overlay entire roads or lanes. Governments have to think about ways to repair road failures in sufficient time to save money and extend road life.
