TELFORD TRANSPORTATION STUDY. 2. NEW TECHNIQUES IN THE MODELLING OF TRIP GENERATION AND MODAL SPLIT

This paper describes the development and calibration of a transportation study model based on the individual trip-maker rather than the conventional household-based approach. New forms of vehicle ownership and trip generation models were calibrated using disaggregated data. The modal choice model for bus, car and walk modes was calibrated for three vehicle availability groups rather than the usual practice of grouping all members of car-owning households together. The methods adopted for each of these models are outlined and results are presented. /Author/ /TRRL/
