U.S.-MEXICO TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIPS AND LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has resulted not only in a rise in trade volumes, but also in changes in patterns of distribution. This paper examines ways in which U.S. and Mexican firms are adjusting to difficulties in cross-border transportation and distribution. In great part, this is occurring via transportation partnerships, strategic alliances, and logistics management strategies designed to facilitate cross-border transfers of technology, capital, and expertise.
