THE 1994 CANADIAN ASPHALT EXCHANGE PROGRAM

This paper presents the results from the 1994 Canadian Asphalt Exchange Program (CAEP), a co-operative program involving numerous volunteer laboratories from across the country. Four types of binder materials were tested in the 1994 exchange: an asphalt cutback (MC-800), a conventional apshalt emulsion (HF-250S), a polymer-modified asphalt emulsion ((HF-150P), and an asphalt cement (150-200A). Analysis of the exchange results is used to examine test methods relative to specifications with regard to the ability of co-operating laboratories to reproduce test results.
