The system reported is a picture processing system concerned with ships' hulls which serves from design to production and is based on Data Base and Computer Graphics. The Data Base comprises HMF (Hull Master File) and DF (Drawing File). The work can be interrupted and resumed at any desired time by an interactive operation based on the SCOPE program. The organization of the NASD System is described from both its program functions and its applications, and some drawings are attached as examples. Graphic devices, NC drawing machines and NC flame cutters are being installed in the three NKK shipyards.
