Whether people like the structure or not, the focus of attention at the new Skye Bridge in Scotland appears to have turned from aesthetics to economics. The design of the bridge, linking the Isle of Skye to the Scottish mainland, has always been controversial with claims the developers took the cheapest option, and the design was not the best available. Now it is the level of tolls to be charged which is causing a rumpus in the Highlands.
