MORE CONTRACTOR-WARRANTED PAVEMENTS APPROVED BY WISCONSIN ROADBUILDERS

Three new contractor-warranted pavement projects are being placed this summer (1996) in Wisconsin, and they're bringing new meaning to the term "partnering." The work follows and enlarges on three successful Wisconsin projects last year, in which contractors designed and placed asphalt concrete mixes of their own choice, with their own testing programs and own placement techniques, operating only within broad parameters established in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. This year's projects include two HMA overlays over pulverized bases, and -- new this year -- an HMA overlay on Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement.
