FACTORS INFLUENCING THE DURATION OF TRAFFIC INJURY-RELATED DISABILITY: A RETROSPECTIVE COHORT STUDY USING CLAIMS DATA
The purpose of this scientific poster is to examine factors predictive for the duration of traffic injury related disability in the populatiion of Barcelona, Spain. The study provides evidence on important injury, crash and personal correlates of duration of traffic related disability in a Southern European area, using a larger population based sample and after adjusting for severity of injury, overcoming some of the limitations of previous studies. It indicates that special attention should be devoted to certain higher risk groups when planning disability prevention efforts, especially for people sustaining injuries to the lower extremities.
