ANALYSIS OF SOME NITROGEN CONTAINING COMPOUNDS FROM VEHICLE EXHAUST EMISSIONS

This report summarizes some emission data of unregulated nitrogen containing compounds from light duty and heavy duty vehicles. The report concludes that NOx is the most abundant compound with regard to nitrogen in exhaust emissions from light and heavy duty vehicles, with exception of N2. For light duty vehicles approximately 135 mg N/km is emitted as NOx while other investigated compounds stand for roughly 50 mg/km. For heavy duty vehicles roughly 8500 mg N/km are emitted from NOx while 7 mg N/km originates from the other investigated compounds. (A)
