ITS DEPLOYMENT PLANNING: USER SATISFACTION FOCUS
The Institute for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Concepts in the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) at the University of Minnesota has defined an Intelligent Transportation Management Systems (ITMS) study plan in response to a request from the University's Parking and Transportation Administration (PTA). The principal objective of this ITMS is to improve the safety of vehicle, transit, pedestrian, and cycle traffic flow to, from, and through the campuses. The secondary objective is to reduce the visitor parking access and departure times for special events as well as for students and staff who commute daily. The third objective is to coordinate with Minnesota's statewide leadership in the deployment of ITS technologies to solve complex transportation issues.
