CROSS-SITE COLLABORATIVE EVALUATION OF KEY TRANSPORT TELEMATICS APPLICATIONS

On behalf of the European Commission, the CORD project is carrying out several cross-site collaborative studies that will synthesize evaluation results of comparable transport telematics systems within the European ATT program. These studies cover a wide range of transport telematics applications including demand management, interurban traffic information based on RDS-TMC technology, freight and fleet management including hazardous goods monitoring, public transport information, and driver assistance systems. This paper aims to describe the methods developed for the collaborative studies and to introduce key results achieved by those studies, which will provide a substantial basis for developing strategies for transport telematics systems deployment in Europe.
