CARIBBEAN CRUISING: COMPETITION AMONG U.S. HOMEPORTS

This article examines the competition among ports in the United States that provide cruise service to the Caribbean. The authors utilize shift-share analysis to apportion growth at individual ports via number of passengers, outbound and inbound, crossing port thresholds. This analysis allows the suggestion of both long- and short-term planning strategies.
