RECYCLING OF ROAD MATERIALS UPDATE (1993 - 1996)

This issue of Current Topics in Transport includes over 60 abstracts of some of the published literature (reports, conference papers, books and journal articles) on the use of recycled materials in the construction of bituminous and concrete roads. While the main emphasis is on recycled road construction materials, some items have been included on a wide range of other waste materials such as demolition debris and power station waste, which have been used in road construction in many parts of the world. The focus of the articles is on the performance and testing of the recycled materials, mix design and specifications and economic and energy saving issues. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1993 and 1996. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database. The previous issue of this title, CT 36, covered articles added to the database between 1991 and 1993.
