MODELLING OF PERSONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN A MULTI-MODE SERVICE ENVIRONMENT
Personal public transport is an intelligent transport system concept of considerable current interest. It applies advanced technology to realise a demand responsive passenger transport system which complements conventional services. System planners need to evaluate its potential and economic viability. This requires that its operation be analysed in the context of those other services. The LITRES passenger transport simulation model is being extended to meet these requirements. The results achieved to date are described using examples from a current investigation.
