INVERSE TRANSIENT ANALYSIS IN PIPE NETWORKS. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by Liggett and Chen, published in this journal (Volume 120, Number 8, August 1994), is presented. Discussers Rao and Sridharan discuss the value in monitoring pipe networks for calibration and leak detection. The discussers point to specific aspects of the authors' study--such as leak detection, sensitivity, and transient studies--in regards to developing countries where drinking water resources are limited. Discussion is followed by closure from the authors.
