DISAPPEARING FUNDS LEAVE AIRPORTS SHORT
The row over Congress plundering aviation trust funds continues with the American Association of Airport Executives pressing for reinstatement of authorized funding levels. At issue is Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding -- a portion of the Aviation Trust Fund set aside for new airport infrastructure projects -- currently authorized at over $2 billion per annum, and which the industry says is being misused by the federal government.
