DEEP INCLINED CORE DRILLING AT CRAIG GOCH
As a further stage of the investigations into foundations of the proposed new high dam for the Craig Goch project, five drilled boreholes were sunk, four of which were inclined at 45 deg, while one was vertical. Details are given of the drilling into superficial material and lower Silurian cleaved mudstone containing occasional quartz veins, of the pumping-in permeability tests and of the borehole surveys carried out in the three deep inclined boreholes using Eastman photographic survey equipment. /TRRL/
