HIGHWAY TRUST FUND: FINANCIAL STATUS AND OUTLOOK. TESTIMONY

This is the statement of Phyllis F. Scheinberg, Associate Director, Transportation and Telecommunications Issues, Resources, Community, and Economic Development Division, General Accounting Office (GAO), before the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, House of Representatives, on the financial condition and outlook for the Highway Trust Fund. The testimony is based on work GAO has conducted over the past several years, and updated information on the Highway Trust Fund. It focuses on how the Highway Trust Fund operates and its ability to meet existing and future funding needs to support surface transportation infrastructure needs in the future.
