WHERE THE INTERSTATE MEETS THE INFORMATION HIGHWAY. EDITORIAL
Author John Lynch makes some predictions about the use of the information highway (I-way) and civil engineering, offering an analogy to the interstate system. He describes what it will mean in practical terms, not only for business relations but for design, competition, and management. Components of I-way construction are discussed as well as the bridges necessary to enable elements of the system. The author urges companies to start by exploring the Internet and establishing a home page on the World Wide Web.
