MODELLING ELASTOMERS IN MADYMO V5.1
The ability to model materials that follow viscoelastic constitutive laws is of great importance for crash safety simulation. This paper describes the implementation of viscoelastic material models into MADYMO V5.1. It was found that the use of a combined Newtonian/Hookian scheme yields the best results for the tested components and gives an adequate representation of the foam types used in vehicle interiors.
