PATENTS AND THE ACV DESIGNER
The purpose of this paper is to draw from the experience of patent agents and research and development units to set out a schematic assessment of the sources of invention, some examples of these sources, the recognition of invention, the decision to patent, where to patent and some pitfalls of the system. By this presentation it is hoped that designers may be helped to make the technical and economic decisions necessary to their everyday operations.
